Birr Leisure Centre:
Birr Leisure Centre is open seven days a week. With early morning lane swimming to lunchtime and afternoon sessions, our current timetable has a lot to offer all busy schedules, including evening family swims and adult’s only sessions.

Birr GAA
Birr GAA is a member of the Gaelic Athletic Association club. The club is almost exclusively concerned with hurling and are one of the most successful club hurling teams in the country with 4 All Ireland titles and 7 Leinster titles.

Birr Rugby Club – Over 120 years of Rugby History
Birr Rugby Footbal Club was founded in 1887 and has resided in Moorpark since since 1982.
Birr Rugby Club facilities include:

  • 4 playing pitches and 1 training pitch
  • 5 changing rooms
  • Referees room
  • Catering facilities
  • Bar
  • Function room
  • Matches are generally played on a Saturday/ Sunday, see the fixtures list for more information. Club Colours are green and black jersey, black shorts and green and black socks.

Birr Golf Club – Founded 1893
Birr Golf Course has been carved out of natural woodland and eskers and provides a strong challenge for even the most accomplished golfers. Undulating fairways, ridges, hills and hollows represent the nearest inland equivalent to the links courses around our coast.

Birr Athletic Club
Birr Athletic club, All level of runners who run competivetly or just for fun. Training every Monday & Wednesday 7:30pm in Crinkle beside Handball Alley.
Birr juvenile club that commenced in Birr on 16/9/17. We welcome children 6-18 from Birr and surrounding areas. Every Saturday morning from 10.30-11.30

Saturday morning spins for beginners/improvers leave Horan’s Shop, Newbridge Street, Birr at 9.00am. Regular Sunday morning spins also leave Horans’ Shop at 9.00am
